A political interest group, Friends of Asuku Reality Network (FARN) has applauded the outcome of the just concluded screening of aspirants aiming for the ticket of the ruling All Progressives’ Congress, APC, ahead of the November 2023 gubernatorial election in Kogi state.
In a statement made available to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday signed by Convener of the forum, Comrade Victoria Akubo, they noted that the screening process was free and fair.
FARN further urged delegates of the party to ensure they do the needful by ensuring the emergence of Chief (Pharm) Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku during the forthcoming primaries in the state.
According to the group, Asuku has paid his dues as it concerns the peace, unity and development of Kogi state and if given the mandate he would deliver his electoral promises without delay.
“Pharm Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku is a servant of the people and his political antecedents speaks a louder volume. Without occupying any elected office before now, this trailblazer has continued to improve the welfare of his people without any form of ethnic or religious sentiments.
“Asuku is a unifier par excellence. He is the best amongst the rest and we are urging APC delegates to do the needful because Asuku is ready to consolidate the dividends of democracy fast tracked by his principal, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
“Kogi state is set. The people are willing and ready to support this God given mandate therefore we are tasking the delegates not to disappoint us. To this end, we hereby endorse Chief (Pharm) Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku, the Ogoloshi Ata Igala as the next governor of Kogi state“, the statement reads in part.
The primary election is slated for April 14th 2023.
18 aspirants under the umbrella of the APC indicated interest to succeed Governor Yahaya Bello.
